As a sensory bottle enthusiast, I couldn’t help but to create a traditional style Valentine’s Day bottle. I thought it would be super simple, but I ended up trying three different bottles before I came up with one I liked enough to share.
Although I wanted it to have the classic look as far as colors go, I wanted the heart confetti to be a little unique. My first choice was a set of open and closed heart shapes in purple and two shades of pink. I was disappointed when the confetti turned the water bright pink after a couple of days.
I tested a few other glitters and confettis for colorfastness and found one with similar open and closed heart shapes that only left a light tint in the water. This one only had large red hearts, so I decided to add some small pink hearts for more color, as well as some medium sliver glitter. Something about the silver glitter didn’t look right, and my confetti was floating instead of sinking.
On my last try, I finally feel like I got the combination right. Large open and closed red hearts, small pink hearts, and fine iridescent glitter. However, I put in too much of the large confetti, which makes it clump together and fall in one big lump instead of falling as individual pieces. Ugh… I decided not to re-do it again, so my photos and videos are of my last slightly-to-clumpy bottle. The list below has the quantities I would recommend.
In the end, I am happy with how it turned out. It’s a reminder to me that love is not perfect and it’s not always easy. Sometimes it is hard work, and sometimes discovering its beauty is all about acceptance.

“One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, ‘What commandment is the foremost of all?’ Jesus answered, ‘The foremost is, “Hear, O Israel! The LORD our God is one LORD; and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” The second is this, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.'”
